• Amenity & Exotics

Feeling Exotic or after a real Specimen?

When you create a landscape or need a practical solution there are amenity/exotic species that suit the toughest site, offer superior shelter or hold the ground together in erosion zones! Of course one must not forget the autumn colour of Maples, Oaks, and Ashes or the miniature hedge created by Buxus. Whether it’s on the farm or in the garden there is something for everyone!

  • Forestry & Shelter

It should be no surprise that forestry and shelter make up for over 90% of the plants on the nursery but new buildings need wood and all farm animals benefit from having shelter around them as opposed to being left in the sun or wind.

If you are interested in forestry we generally produce Pinus radiata, Pinus nigra, Pinus ponderosa, Douglas fir, Cupressus macrocarpa and a few different mixes to spice it up!

As for shelter it is pretty hard to beat the Leyland, Poplar & Willows for a large and quickly establish option. But do feel free to talk to us about native options which if mixed can look very natural and appealing.

  • NZ Natives

Going Native for that little bit of ‘kiwi’.

It’s pure luck to be in this country but it’s even luckier to be able to have a piece of it in your own backyard. With a bit of planning your space can fit in a bit of a wild mountain forest, lush rolling hillside, resilient coastal scrub or even a bit of healthy farm land.

That’s the magic of our natives, you can have a piece of real New Zealand in a few square metres.

  • Tree Crops

Trees and shrubs are the renewable resource that keeps on giving, we get quite a lot without getting too much back in return. Since they are so generous why not have a go at feeding us too?

While there are numerous delicious offerings from our woody friends we’ll grow you Hazelnuts and Walnuts but there is always the exciting offering of Truffles & Mushrooms.

For more info of the nuts just drop us a line but for the Truffles and Mushrooms head on over to www.effnz.co.nz for a sneak preview.
